|
| Phase II: Cross-Sectoral Strategies for Risk Reduction |
Cross-Sectoral Strategies for Risk Reduction, phase II is a multi-sectoral initiative to enhance disaster response coordination in five states of India: Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, Odisha and Uttarakhand. With continued support of USAID / OFDA (Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance), PCI is embarking on this second phase for a year-long effort to strengthen local response networks in all the 5 states in India to reduce vulnerability to disasters and respond to them effectively.
The project is designed to facilitate the participation and expertise of a wide network of humanitarian assistance and disaster risk management stakeholders from Indian government, NGO, university and business sectors to help reinforce existing mandates, priorities and resources for reducing vulnerability to disasters and to help identify a sustainable mechanism for better local response network.
