The state of
Bihar is experiencing the worst monsoon
season in the last 30 years. Within the
first few days of the massive flooding,
PCI placed an assessment team on the
ground to address this crisis. In less
than a month, the PCI mobile health van
and team conducted health camps in 27
villages in Dharbanga, Madhubani and
Samasthipur districts. The health camps
have served 8,000 patients (1,761 men,
4,643 women, 1,120 boys, and 482 girls)
and the team continues to serve many
more each day.

Celebrating 10 Years
In 2008 PCI/India
celebrates ten successful years as a
registered Indian Charitable Society.
PCI/India began its activities
throughout India in 1997 with its first
program for HIV/AIDS capacity building.
Since then, PCI registered in 1998,
received its FCRA status in 2001, and
established six regional offices
throughout India . Over the years, PCI/India
has established itself as a key player
in HIV/AIDS interventions where it
currently manages the most extensive and
comprehensive HIV community and
home-based care in the country,
delivering services to more than 6,000
people living with HIV/AIDS.
PCI/India applauds the accomplishments
and dedication of all its employees. Of
its 350 staff, 19 employees have been
with PCI for over 5 years. The 10-year
celebration will be an ongoing
country-wide event for the year up June
17, 2008 with special events including
